Epsom Downs adds WeatherTrax Live data to Cazoo Derby Festival offering

WeatherTrax Live, British racing’s most popular live weather data system, is set to make its Epsom Downs debut at the world’s most prestigious Flat race meeting, the Cazoo Derby Festival which begins on Friday, 4 June.

Data streamed live from the on-course WeatherTrax station will be available to view, together with the latest independent GoingStick readings and Going Maps, at: https://www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/epsom/owners-and-trainers/the-going

WeatherTrax live data includes real-time wind speed and direction, rainfall, air temperature and Evapotranspiration (moisture loss), providing horsemen, media and racing fans with the opportunity to monitor weather changes and ground conditions in an easy to access format.

Andrew Cooper, Clerk of the Course at Epsom Downs said, “Accurate and informative data has become an important element in the delivery of world-class sporting events.  We are delighted to have partnered with TurfTrax to provide this innovative service in the build up to and during the Cazoo Derby Festival.”

WeatherTrax Live data has proved popular at The Jockey Club’s flagship meetings this year including The Cheltenham Festival, Randox Grand National Festival, bet365 Jump Finale at Sandown Park and Newmarket’s QIPCO Guineas Festival since its launch at Royal Ascot last year.

TurfTrax Managing Director Mike Maher said, “As the latest generation of WeatherTrax stations continue to be rolled out on more courses in the UK, the opportunities to offer a wider range of real-time data to broadcasters, online media and racecourses via their own websites continue to increase.

“This data content and GoingStick readings combined with climate data from the on-course weather station and processed via the TurfTrax Hub, provides unrivalled local detail and the most comprehensive account of the ground conditions available anywhere in sport.”
